Indian Playing 11 for WorldCup

Cricket aficionados are saying that this team is not capable of winning us the world cup for the second time. I feel the other way, to me this team is definitely capable of winning the cup only under one condition if players are selected properly.

Here is my playing 11 in the order of batting for the first two one dayers

1. Sachin Tendulkar
2. Saurav Ganguly
3. Virender Sehwag
4. Rahul Dravid
5. Yuvraj Singh
6. Dinesh Karthik.
7. Mahendra Singh Dhoni
8. Ajit Agarkar
9. Zaheer Khan
10. Anil Kumble
11. Munaf Patel
12. Harbhajan Singh
13. Robin
14. Sreesant
15. Pathan

When you have the best opening pair in the world why ever think of some one else opening. Sachin and Ganguly have 16 century partnership stands till now and in maximum cases they have given us solid starts. I will put sehwag in one down position not the current 5 down or in middle order. He is the type of player who loves to attacks and initial overs are suitable for him. In case sahin/ganguly get out early he will keep the run rate blazing. Now why I haven't chosen Uthappa is only on the experience factor. He is still not tested in away conditions, its better to play sehwag in first two matches if he fails then we can play Robin.

Now comes the middle order. With Dravid, Yuvraj , Kartik and Dhoni in middle order who would say that this is fragile middle order. Atlease in paper it doesn't look so. There is no doubt about dravid in any body's mind. Now the question is about the recuperating Yuvraj, he was in fine form at the time of injury, he played a crucial role in the india's victory's last year. I hope he gets fit soon and starts scoring runs. After him I have put Karthik who has shown great character in SA as well as back in India. In case we can swap yuvi and karthik.

Dhoni is at his usual place, he can adjust to the game at this position according to the need. If there is a collapse then he can take singles otherwise in slog overs he can slog.

I have taken four bowlers in the team Agarkar, Zaheer , Kumble and according to the pitch we can chose from Munaf/Harbhajan. I have opted for kumble in case of bhajji because we are not sure about the nature of pitches. Kumble is deadly in pitches with some bounce and he is more experienced.

I have not included Sreesant and Pathan in the playing eleven as they are out of form. Sreesant is bowling wayward and pathan is also giving so many runs and at present there is no need of his batting.

Sachin, Ganguly , Dravid and Kumble get your guns blazing and lift the cup. This might be your last appearance.
